5WORTH EVERY DOLLAR!!!...
By CAMRY 2010
THIS IN-DASH NAVIGATION SYSTEM IS AWSOME!!!! VERY EASY TO INSTALL AND REALLY COOL TO USE. THE NAVIGATION, BLUETOOTH, DVD, RADIO, EVERYTHING IS REALLY EASY TO USE AND GIVES THE CAR A GREAT NEW LOOK. EVERYONE WHO GOT IN MY CAR AFTER I INSTALLED IT WOULDNT STOP COMPLIMENTING ME ON IT. THE HANDS FREE PHONE IS AWSOME ON IT, YOU CAN PLAY SONGS STRAIGHT OUT OF YOUR PHONE WIRELESS WITH THE BLUETOOTH AND SOUNDS AMAZING.. NO STATIC NOISE AT ALL. REALLY EASY INSTALLATION WITH STEP BY STEP GUIDE. THE ONLY THING I WAS A LITTLE DISSAPOINTED IN WAS THAT I THINK IT SHOULD HAVE CAME WITH THE BACKUP CAMERA FOR THE CAMERA FUNCTION, SO YOU WOULDNT HAVE TO BUY IT SEPERATLY. ITS A LITTLE PRICY BUT LIKE I SAID WORTH EVERY DOLLAR, YOUR REALLY GETTING YOUR MONEYS WORTH WITH THIS SYSTEM. OVERALL, GREAT UNIT EASY TO USE AND GREAT LOOK FOR YOUR CAMRY. IF I HAD TO I WOULD DEFFINETLY BUY IT AGAIN.

1Several important weaknesses!
By Omid Parto
The perfect fitting and the great look was attractive to me, and the high price (almost $2000 for the original price) was a kind of signal that could tell me "this is quite different than others". That's why finding a new unit for only $600 or even $800 would look like a great opportunity. I spent four months searching for such an opportunity, finally found one and bought the system.Though it is said that it's a "Plug-and-play" system, this is far from truth. I own a Toyota Camry XLE 2009, so the NV8TCM1 suppose to be a compatible system for it. But practically the sockets and outlets didn't match. Since I wanted to follow the terms of the manufacturer warranty I paid a professional installer to take care of installation. Anyways, these are my final evaluation of this unreasonably expensive system:1- Not a true plug and play2- The sound quality in not even close to professional. You never get the same quality that you had with the OEM audio system.3- The system is not fully compatible with the steering wheel controls. The "Talk" button will become inactive after installation of M&D because NV8TCM1 is not voice active/responsive. you won't be able to call the dialing pad by pressing either call or end call buttons. For this reason you should use your other hand fingers to reach out the buttons on the M&D system.4- if you expect to see the front panel of the M&D system at night with that beautiful "lake green" light color, well think twice as the front panel will only dim for a second when you start the engine and then stays dark during the rest of your commute. This means that during your night commute, you won't be able to read the buttons name or see the front panel frame clearly. You might need to turn on the cabin light in order to see/read the buttons. Thought the monitor is touch screen you will need to use the front panel button too, frequently.5- My cell phone is Samsung Galaxy SII and I have difficulties keeping the Bluetooth connection stable with NV8TCM1. It is quite frustrating for me to pair again / connect again almost every time and loose the connection few minutes later. I have no problem with BT connection between my cell phone and other two cars audio / gps systems (they're not M&D).6- POI data bank is very poor. POI on the GPS map is not even close to the minimum number that you might need. I was in numerous well known intersections and I could see franchises on the corner plazas, but on the map there was only one / two name of those famous franchises. I also searched for those franchises on the system's POI search, but nothing close came up on the search results.7- The refresh time for processes on this system is considerably high. In other words there's long delay or pause when you want to switch from one function to the other.8- I don't know about the $2000 package, but the one that you buy for less, you sure need to buy the following items separately: a) Backup camera b) headrest monitors c) iPhone and satellite radio connection d) Backup sensors and Radars e) and an adapter if your original system is jblThere is not enough clear information about this additional parts and the compatibility of others with NV8TCM1 system. I bought an additional back up camera just to find out that the back up system is not fully functional with that camera. So far I couldn't find what is the item code / number of the M&D camera that works with NV8TCM1.9- The online customer support is not very helpful.I hope this would help others to save their money and be a better smart buyer.
