5Top Notch with the right stuff
By Justin
Okay, so I bought a different Pyle that was defective. Upon returning, I found this guy, and liked the look of it much better. It is a sleek design, and makes my car look great. So after waiting and waiting for this to come in, I installed immediately. I wanted to review first, but mikec beat me to it. I don't know if he had some bad wiring, but I don't have any of the problems he has with the exception of the GPS messing up the radio function.***EDIT: See below for fixI cannot stress this enough, BUY BUY BUY a harness for your car. I have a Honda, and their new wiring is hard to decode. I bought a harness and I have been doing this for years on end.The camera works fantastic. The only problem I have with the camera is having to wire the reverse wire to the unit itself (instead of acc wire like most). I had actually wired the camera power to the acc wire at first, but this causes it to stay on the camera input after boot, not allowing any other function, just shows "CAM" in the upper corner. My camera is powered to reverse in the back, so when I put it in reverse it worked just fine. So, I had to run the reverse power all the way to the front in order for it to work correctly. Little did I know there is a setting that reverses the acc and reverse power from the GUI, so I ran it for nothing, but glad I did, because it works great now.The blue-tooth works GREAT with music, and so/so with phone. You have to turn the volume up while in a call, so when it goes back to music it is blasted. The scan feature works fine for me. You have to use the physical buttons in order to manually go up from 107.1 to 107.3, or hold it down in order to go to next station. It doesn't however have a true "scan" feature, to be able to search without touching the radio for a while if in a different area. The soft buttons on the screen are the ones that go from channel to channel that you have programmed.Navigation cuts through the radio intermittently. This sucks, but hey, I use it anyway. I actually downloaded and use iGo primo 2.2 international edition and updated maps (just google gps + underground and read). If you want to change the default path to match where you put your new maps, change the path in the shell.ini file (i.e. \sdmmc0\newmap\application.exe). Mine also came with voices installed, I have no idea why mike's didn't. Sorry mike, that sucks. Not being a jerk, truly saying that sucks. I am going to try out a different version of GPS, I will let you know if problems stop, but I doubt it. ****EDIT: Sygic GPS software does not cut through radio unless it is telling you to turn. Find some sygic, works GREAT.****EDIT 2: The provided software works just fine, need to mute master volume, but keep all the rest of the notifications on, works just fine. Found out cause my Sygic trial expired. There are a whole bunch of other features, like themes and such, just need to download them. You can also download a boot screen that makes it look factory. Problem is finding them.My rating is as follows:Radio play A+Bluetooth B - due to volume issuesGPS C - work great, just don't expect radio play.****EDIT: Change this to an A. With right software, this thing is a beast. Use low memory mode, no problems at all.****EDIT 2: See above fix.Camera A+Cool features that I cannot use... FOverall 4 stars because of GPS radio interference. ****EDIT: 5 stars update due to good software making this thing awesome.****EDIT 2: Still 5 stars, and the software now is more user friendly.

2ok but has issues
By mikec
Bought from amazon/3kings. In use for 4 days. The software is not the same as the other Pyle units. It has a carousel design. radio is simple just gives the frequency no RDS no autoscan and no seek function. The seek buttons just go to next memory channel which can be set in another page. Display is very good resolution. DVD was very clear. Clock stays set unlike reported for 78i. Display however will dim when lights turned on but won't brighten with lights off. Must turn car off then on. Display when brightest is hard to see during the day. Has igo8 navigation which is old but good software. Map was from 2011 tom tom.If you use the backup camera it occasionally messes up the GPS. Gps my fail to reload. Sometimes it decides to flip in and out of the GPS. Really annoying. Even with the software still navigating. It does mute the radio for instructions, But also several times for no reason. The Gps software has tts capabilities but out of the box it does not, so that part of the specs is wrong. If you need it the files can be downloaded from the net fairly easy and free. Igo has some voices that are standard without tts(in 50 yards turn left), then some are normal tts(in 50 yards, turn left on to main st), then there are tts pro voices which give more info like "in 50 yards, turn left at the gas station on to main st". You can also run other gps programs on it like I prefer igo primo (the newest igo) which does freeway sign guidance and junction view, which runs very fast on this. However the setting to change the software path is bad - you can change the path but once the unit restarts (when you turn car off and on) it will revert back to its default. (whatever you run its path will have to be igo8/igo8.exe). 3 kings is being helpful and will be returning this unit.
